Events for February 2018

Ord Area Chamber of Commerce
Feb 1 Escape Room

Join us for an Escape Room Challenge

where you will be given 45 minutes to try

your luck at getting out of the library.

Details:

Create a team of 3-8 members. There is not an age limit, but this game will

appeal to high school age through adults. If children participate, an adult

should be on the team as well.

Teams can be friends, families, or the game can be used as a team building

exercise for co-workers, challenging other groups, etc. Get creative!

Reserve a time slot with your name and phone number at the library's front

desk. Time slots are only available in the month of February and when the

library is closed. Only one team participates at a time.

A $10 fee is assessed for each team. Fee must be paid before playing the

game. The fee can be waived if the team forfeits its right to winning the

quickest time challenge.

An individual may only participate 1 time in the Escape Room Challenge @

Your Library – so pick your team wisely.

Using your brain and simple logic, work your way through a series of puzzles

and tasks. Knowledge of the library is not required but can be helpful.

Two hint cards are available throughout the game. When presenting the hint

card, your time stops. There is not a penalty for using a hint card, but in the

event of a tie, the winner will be awarded to the team that uses less hint

cards.

Time matters. The team that escapes the quickest by February 28th will

receive all $10 fees assessed by participating teams.  For Example - If there are

10 teams that participate in the challenge, the winning team will receive $100.00 cash!

Pictures of all teams will be taken and used on the Library's Facebook page

Feb 28 - Mar 7 Goodwill Donation Truck
Goodwill Donation Drive
Goodwill Industries of Greater Nebraska is having a donation drive in Ord beginning after noon on Wednesday February 28 and continuing 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. each day through Wednesday March 7, 2018 or earlier when trailer becomes full.  People in Ord and the surrounding area can drop off their donations at the donation trailer parked at the St. Mary’s School, 527 N. 20th Street, Ord.

Virtually anything in your home or garage that you no longer use is accepted: clothing, household items, shoes, boots, purses, belts, hats, books, all computers, printers, monitors and computer accessories can be placed inside the Goodwill trailer.  Due to limited storage space, furniture, televisions and large appliances are not accepted.  Tax donation receipts are available at the trailer.

Goodwill appreciates the generosity of the citizens of Ord and the surrounding area.  Revenue generated through the sale of donated items at Goodwill’s retail stores supports services for people in living in greater Nebraska.

Goodwill Industries of Greater Nebraska’s mission is to help people with disabilities or barriers achieve their goals and improve their quality of life.  The organization fulfills this mission every day by supporting people to find jobs that match their talents and gifts, teaching skills leading to increased independence, helping people through the process of recovery and empowering people to focus on their strengths and abilities rather than a diagnosis or disability.
